About Us
Our Story. Our Movement.
One by one, we saw charities closing down their shops. Blue boards where warm windows used to be. Locks on doors that once welcomed anyone. First a handful. Then dozens. Then hundreds. Behind every closed shutter was something the numbers could not capture — a community that had lost its heartbeat. We stopped and asked ourselves:
"what kind of world are we heading towards if we let charities fade away?"
Charities are not just shops. They are the neighbour who checks in on you when you cannot afford a doctor. The lifeline that funds cancer treatments for a loved one. The guide dog trained for a child who has never seen a sunset. The hospice nurse holding a stranger's hand in their final hours. They are the quiet, tireless architecture of human compassion — and they were crumbling.
We could not look away.
The world wants what charities have
But there is something else at stake too — something bigger than any of us. Every item that goes unsold in a charity shop does not simply disappear. It gets discarded. Incinerated. Buried. Replaced by a factory that burns more fuel, consumes more water, and pushes us further from the world we want to leave our children.
Right now, 711,000 tonnes of textiles are discarded in the UK every single year. Each tonne releases avoidable CO₂ into an atmosphere already struggling. Every litre of water wasted making new clothes is a litre stolen from the future. The stakes are not abstract. They live in the air your children breathe. In the water they will drink. In the world they will inherit.
We cannot build this future alone.
We have spent the best of lives to create Charity Finds™️ as our way of creating a sustainable future for all. We are calling on every individual who believes in the life-changing work of charities. Every company that believes sustainability is not a slogan but a responsibility. Every person who wants the world their children inherit to be worth inheriting.
This is your invitation. Partner with us. Champion us. Join us. Spread the word! Because the charities that saved people deserve to be saved — and the planet that sustains us all deserves to be sustained.
Charity Finds is a product of Optimera — built with purpose, for people and planet.
